This is a request for She asked me to draw her OC BabyDoll, and I used this as reference: [link] I apologize for taking so long to finish it, but I hope you like anyways! >w<
Colouring her hair was the biggest challenge for me, I'm still not entirely too happy with how it looks, I feel like I could've blended the colours together a bit more, but at the same time, I feel like that's the best it's gunna get
My favourite part of this picture are her socks, and the background. I did add a few too many stripes on her socks, so I had to stretch the colours out a bit, but I feel like I did a pretty good job. The background, I am extremley pleased with, I was originally gunna do a full picture using just colouring pencils and pens, my normal medium, but I thought that a pastel background would suit the picture much better. I normally avoid using chalks or pastels, because I'm fairly rubbish at using them, but I thought of a different way of using them this time
I will admit that I did get a little carried away with the white dots, personally I think I shouldn't of done so much
Anyways, enjoy!!

I'll start with the bad. Your shading on a few places is off and the skin tone colors were too vibrant in some places. As shading goes, unless the person is standing on light, it's darker as you get closer to the ground. You had trouble identifying a light source which makes your shading sporadic and have no actual direction, a simple mistake that a lot of artists have. Since the background is so light, it doesn't contrast with the girls colors at all.
Other than a few mistakes here and there, you did really well with your execution of her character. You implemented multiple colors which is hard to shade most of the time. Your skin tones are the only thing that really threw me off because on her chest, it's so much darker and doesn't fade into it. Shading is supposed to be gradual and progress and you accomplished that in most of the places you shaded, but the chest area is just a simple two tone. I can understand if that's an issue of perhaps a camera or scanner, but it's what stood out most and threw the picture off. Now I'm not a very well versed critique writer and I don't mean to be offensive at all with what I've said because I really do adore this piece, and many more of your works.
You are a very talented artist and You have come a very long way, your talent hits many categories. This is why I felt compelled to write a critique for you, because I respect your art very much and adore it. Congratulations on another piece well done, Lovette. On a scale of 1-10, I give this an 8. The person you drew this for should be very happy with you.
